Pictures and Information on the Bald Eagle

Check this out. This is the mother with her eggs. This picture was taken today. 3/1/14. I love this picture so much, because The eggs are going to hatch at some point. So I will keep you up to date on these amazing birds. Soon to be a family.

This picture is where either the mother or the father were injured on the head. I found this out because the owner of the website had posted this picture and said that the Bald Eagle had a head injury.

These are the mother and father.

Now you may not believe me, but this is the child. You can say that you do not believe me, but truly this is. The owner of the website also posted this picture.

I also found out that in the winter which is they Bald Eagles mating season. So maybe this school year we will witness a miracle.

January 18 was one of those times when it was hard.. It was not those kind of hard times when someone dies or something like that. It was one of those times when you have to put grit into it. For me I had to put grit into running a 5K.

Three miles of twist, and turns, and rough grounds. Now when you are going to run a 5K you want to run in weather that felt good. It was not nice weather. 33 degrees.  It was not going to be easy.

We arrived at 7:00 A.M. I did not want to get up at 6:00 to get ready to go to a race and run at 7:00. I was tired which made it even tougher for me to go through with the race.

It was my first time at a 5K run, so I really didn't know what to expect. I was ready though. I was ready for the race, because I had been running every day since I first signed up.

When the buzzer went off the crowd started running, jogging, and walking. I was jogging. I jogged all they way there. I had two of my friends with me and they were jogging with me.

As my friends and I  was jogging the wind was hitting my face. It was so cold that with the wind blowing in my face, plus me jogging it was like running through a blizzard. It was not the funniest time.

When we was jogging my two friends said that they wanted to run the way back. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO RAN THE WAY BACK! It was the tough part, but I was going to stick to my word. With running 2 miles back, and the weather, plus add that I had a sprained ankle. I really wanted to stop running back, but I was going to keep my word and run the way back.

The best part was that I had a house full of people who were so supportive. They believed in me. Every time I passed someone they would high-five me, or shout " Your doing a great job!!!!!!!"

When you have someone at least just one who believes in you, then you have a support system. When you have someone who believes in you that you can do anything then that is all you could ask for. in my case I had more than one person who believed in me. Even though it was a really tough, I kepped on going because I was really motivated by the people around me. That made me keep going.

When I crossed the finished line everybody was cheering, that is what made the 5K run worth it for me to run.

Darkness

Those spine tingaling , earth shattering words, are the words I will never forget. The words he's dieing is what brought a wave of darkness into my heart. Those words are the words I can't throw away. I wish I could. But I can't.

Ever since I foung out that my grandfather had cancer and that he was going to survive the whole year, I was torn into a million pieces. I just couldn't belive that he was going to die at the age of 72. I at the age of 10, and never metting my grandmother, but then living 5 hours away from my grandfather who we raely visited.

The news that he was dieing that night was as if the worlds light had turnned off and there was only darkness. I couldn't handle any more deaths.

As my friend was holding me in her arms I couldn't stop the stream if water flow down my face, and hit the floor. There was know was that I could get the darkness out of my heart.

But as long as I have hope, there are spots in my heart that can let in joy, happiness, and mabye even a little bit of light. As for right now all I need is family, friends, and hope.

This is a picture of Ariel. Most of us, we are to old for Ariel.

But you know what, all of us are going to hate things but we are going to face things we Hate (Ariel ) but, we can't run away from them.

We just got to stick with it and just keep all those mean things we want to say inside of us.

I am not saying that to all things we are going to be able to ignore but that's okay.

Just be who you are and stand tall.

Ryker

By: Tori

I saw him going down the road as I came outside

He told me, he's going

I felt a shower of guilt and pain thinking I did not do good enough

Then I saw him in the car going down the road

that was the last time that I said Goodbye

That's when I thought to myself He will be in a better place

But he will always be my Ryker

Street Music

By: Tori

I stand outside my door and I listen.

I here the birds chirping

I here the water rushing when I'm up the hill

the bark of the dogs running around

the sounds of the construction bang, bang, banging

The sounds of the memories in my mind

The sounds of people talking

It may not be perfect but, at least I am here, where I can spend my time with family and friends

That is my Street my Street Music

When someone sees it you just know that that might be a video or quote that you have to share with others so they can see it when they are felling sad.

Is it at the top of the page, if so then it said it has been either removed from facebook or it is not visiable because of the privacy settings. If it is not at the top of the page then I forgot where it was.

June Shanahan said

at 6:30 am on Jan 13, 2014

It's at the top, just under the map. You won't be able to view it at school bc of the firewall. You should be able to view it any place else.

Tori,
I just gave you extra credit in Language Arts because I loooooooooooooooove that 5K Run essay you wrote! Look back over it, read it outloud, edit it for any mistakes you find. I am on the look out for kids to read for Evening of the Arts. Your 5K Run essay is definitely one I would consider after you polish it up a little. It's BEAUTIFUL.

Tori said

at 6:08 pm on Jan 22, 2014

Thank you very much. I knew that there was going to be an event like that, but I never thought that I would be one that would be in consideration. I really would like to do it, but we do have others that are good writers in the class so I will definitely write and work on any writing that I have. I really want to be the kid who you pick to be in the evening of the arts.

June Shanahan said

Tori,
Do you want to copy and paste your 5K Run narrative into MSWord, save it in your work folder, and edit it? We could polish it up, then I could submit it for the Evening of the Arts Program, if you think you are brave enough to stand on the stage. (I know you are. After all, you were brave enough to finish that 5K, and most people are not brave enough to even try THAT!)

Tori said

at 6:32 pm on Mar 1, 2014

First of all yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes!!!!!!!!! I can do that. And I am up to the challenge of evening of the arts.
