Our Sad Little Story

Page history last edited by Giggles 12 years, 10 months ago

I mean it (I really do) when I say that there are NO words to describe my family. Not like my mom, my aunt or my grandpa or anyone like that. (Even though there aren't words to describe them, either) But I'm talkin about my family here at Scobee. The family in Mrs. Shanahan's 5th grade class. We started out as classmates. Then friends. Then onto BEST friends. Then somewhere along this..."little adventure" of ours,we evolved into a family. We are SO close to each other, and sadly, SO close to leaving Scobee. No one has ever been able to make me laugh like the Superbrains (that's Mrs.Shanahan's nickname for us, for those of you who didn't know). No one has ever been able to make me smile like the Superbrains. And no one has ever made me cry like the Superbrains (TEARS OF JOY, OF COURSE) Long story short, these guys make me emotional; they make me happy. I have had the most memorable year, and been at the most memorable school, and I CANNOT tell you how much it hurts to know that all of this leads up to saying goodbye. But I'll always love Scobee. I'll always love my friends and family. That will never change. But it also won't stop the hurt. But sometimes there's basically nothing you can do to stop the hurt. But I once saw someone say on a TV show (in a totally different situation, but it fits here, too) "It's like a heartbreak

airbag. Don't stop the pain but sure cushions the blow" and I guess we are each other's "heartbreak airbag",and that's an odd...yet extremely comforting thought. This all goes to show that I'll never EVER EVER EVER forget my 5th grade year. I <3 Scobee!

Thursday June 2nd,2011,

Ok, so graduations over, and I'm in a total daze. It's s surreal. It feels like after summer ends, I'm gunna go right back to Scobee like every year since kinder. But that's not the case. Nope. Stinson, here we come. But I'm gunna miss...everything. I just hope middle school isn't as scary as the picture in my mind. All these tears and emotion really make me realize that what you have is priceless. In fact, all these tears are flowing out, and so are words, Here are some things I've written on the wiki today (and I'll add as I write more):

"The best friends *ahem* family members I've ever had are all the SuperBrains!!!! I love u guyzzz!!!! Gunna miss ya'll SOOO much!!!! See ya'll... most of ya'll... in Middle School...But never forget what crazy adventures we've had this year! And visit the wiki like...as much as possible! And while I hope you all have fun growing up, be sure to NEVER EVER (never) forget the memorable times you had as a kid. And when one of you (or all of you, I dunno!) becomes famous or a millionare, I'll be happy to say i knew you at the most amazing time possible: just a kid in elementary school. To be more specific, as a SuperBrain in Mrs.Shanahan's 5th grade class at Scobee. And when one of you (or 2 or 3...whichever) becomes president, just promise to mention the SuperBrains in one of your many important, fancy pants speeches. But the most important thing is to remember I'll always love all of you guys. You have supported me, encouraged me, made me laugh, made me cry, given me the time of my life and memories to last forever. And for that I will be forever thankful. It's incredible what impact people can have on you. I've never REALLY understood that until you guys came into my life. I will miss...what we had. I'll miss being in our fun little classroom with our great teacher and being a goofy family--all together--with all of you guys' fantastic minds, laughs, and hearts. The greatest people I've ever known were my 5th grade classroom family... My 5th grade classroom family of SUPERBRAINS. You guys are the BOMB and I love you, family!!!!"

"Aww Mrs.Shanahan, that means so much to me. (Like... WAAAY more than you can imagine) But I only wrote that because of what you and the other SuperBrains have done to me...you've inspired me, changed me in the best possible way, and showed me that learning, laughing and loving are a perfect blend that coexist in perfect harmony. Love, love, love you, too!!!!"

"It means something in each and every one of our hearts. We are very sentimental poets, and all these quotes and poems have nuzzled their way into our hearts AND minds. We are easily inspired, so it makes us think. AND care. And that combonation will help us change the world, live life, and enjoy every single moment... Which all leads up to us succeeding and caring and loving and thinking and ALL that good stuff"

"I've read every single quote on this page. All your amazing quotes really emphasizes what intellegent and inspirational people you are (Pfft, as if anyone needed a reminder)"

"Time to hit the pedal to the metal, guys! I wish all of ya'll the best of luck in middle school!!!! But before we worry about that, ENJOY YOUR SUMMER VACATION! Wear sunscreen!!! (I cannot stress that enough. It's hot and sunny, and no one wants to look like a lobster)"

"There are a few words that have started to make me cringe. "Letting go" "change" "memories" "family" "love" because all those words lead to thoughts. And thoughts that lead up to all you guys and our amazing year...which of course, leads to laughs and tears...at the same time :') Miss you guys"

So yeah, I've written A LOT of sappy stuff today...but I meant all of it...I love you SuperBrains!

Oh, Giggles... There are no words to describe how touching this page was to me! I think the main source of poetry for us is.. Us. The Super Brains. Our classroom family. (Sniff sniff, I WON'T cry, I WON'T cry, I WON'T CRY... I'm crying.) :)

With every thought you share, you make us brave enough to write our own. Come to think of it, that's what you did the entire year...you didn't even know it, but you made us take chances. It made us closer.
