Do I Make You Proud (Poem)

Page history last edited by sanjanascobee 12 years, 11 months ago

Did you ever think that the Super Brains came together not by coincidence, but by destiny? Just one simple question: How are we supposed to leave Scobee Elementary, where we've grown up together most of our lives? Okay, maybe not that simple of a question. :)

The Open Door

 By Sanjana

You might say that a door is closing

But I think a new door is opening

A journey is ending just as another is beginning

But the adventure isn't over yet.

We have cried out all our tears

And smiled all our smiles

But the moment of truth has arrived: saying good-bye.

It is just a simple word

Not too long or too tough

But saying "bye" is just proof

That we really ARE leaving

For good.

Have we been kidding ourselves

When we thought that we wouldn't have to go?

Well, we can't pretend anymore.

I know it seems that a door is closing: the door of Scobee Elementary

But no worries: a new door is opening

A new adventure is beginning

Our lives will never be the same.

You may not believe me when I say this, but I've always known it since the very beginning. It was not an accident. Our lives were meant to intersect during the 2010-2011 school year. Synergy.

I am going to be sooooooooooooooo embarrassed next Thursday when I am the biggest cry baby in the entire school. If you see me pinching my leg, or stepping on my own foot, it means I'm trying NOT TO CRY!!!!!!

People in the audience will whisper, "Why is Mrs. S stomping on her own foot?"
